I work collaboratively with clients and offer a safe, non-judgmental & confidential space.
I help clients deconstruct negative thoughts and emotions, hopelessness and despair, and support them to instead create and develop preferred and empowered selves and identities.
Sessions can integrate art making and mind-body techniques to help with processing and integration.

About me
Hello and thank you for visiting my website. I hope that it is clear what I can offer and how I work however if there is anything that you are not sure about please feel free to make contact.
My approach to therapy with clients is that I prioritise working collaboratively with you in order to offer a safe, non-judgmental & confidential space where you feel empowered and comfortable. I am experienced in helping clients to work through many life difficulties including anxiety and depression, bereavement, people wanting to explore their identity, dealing with shame and difficult feelings arising from adverse experiences such as childhood abuse and neglect, challenging relationships, traumatic memory, life challenges and feelings of worthlessness.
With you we make a plan of support and I utilise my training and expertise to support you to develop and establish a happier and more empowered sense of yourself.
I am dual trained in Art Psychotherapy and Systemic Psychotherapy and so integrate and utilise ideas, theory and techniques from both these trainings in my work with clients, including the use of artmaking and images.
I have been working as a therapist with a diverse range of individual couple and family clients for over 25 years. I currently work in children's services where I offer individual, couple and family sessions to care experienced young people, foster carers and biological family. I also provide consulation, supervision and reflective spaces for social work and mental health professionals. Previously I have worked as a therapist in the NHS (CAMHS), the charitable sector, in schools and in private practice.
I am fully qualified in Systemic Couple & Family Psychotherapy (MA), and Art Psychotherapy (MA). I am a qualified supervisor and am trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR).

Making the commitment to try therapy sessions can feel like a big step and I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation with you to explore what you are looking for and for you to ask any questions that you may have about the process of therapy.
It might be helpful to know that there is a lot of evidence that engaging in psychotherapy sessions can lead to a reduction in many troubling symptoms & thoughts, can improve feelings of anxiety and low mood and can help with emotional regulation and enhance communication skills. Engaging in therapy can increase self awareness, improve confidence & an increase an overall sense of wellbeing.
